    • Only Lee County town mandated by an act if the Territorial Legislature of Iowa and created expressly for the purpose of being the county seat.
    • Franklin Centre is another name for this town and could of had the nickname of "Stone City" because of all the beautiful colored limestone.
    • The 1875 census found that there wasn't a child of the age of fourteen that could not read and write.
    • Franklin Station grew around the point of the nearest railroad tracks and stopped the future growth of the town.
    • The 1990 census listed a population of 152 residents.
