Instruct voters how to mark the ballot

Complete paperwork and close the polls

Are you up to the challenge? Good! Read on…

    A MAJOR RESPONSIBILILTY

Elections are at the core of our system of government. Seeing to it that everyone's right to vote is protected - and that we as a people are protected against voter fraud - is not a responsibility to be taken lightly. We are prepared to give you the training if you are prepared to take the responsibility.

     Training

Schools of instruction are held periodically

Individual training can be scheduled with Election Office

New workers receive on-the-job training from experienced workers

     Pay

Pay is roughly minimum wage including mileage

     Qualifications

Must be registered to vote in Lee County

Must be affiliated with the Democratic or Republican Party

     When might I work?

Depending on the availability of workers in your precinct, you may be called for any or all of the following:

SCHOOL ELECTIONS are held each September. Polls are usually open 7 AM to 8 PM.

CITY ELECTIONS are held in November of odd-numbered years. Polls are usually open 7 AM to 8 PM.

PRIMARY ELECTIONS are held in June of even-numbered years. Polls are open 7 AM to 9 PM.

GENERAL ELECTIONS are held in November of even-numbered years. Polls are open 7 AM to 9 PM.

SPECIAL ELECTIONS are called as necessary and are always held, as other elections, on TUESDAYS.
