Lee County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 9:00
A.M., at the South Lee County Courthouse in Keokuk. Present: Joe Kowzan, Larry Kruse, George Morgan, Rick Larkin and Bob
Woodruff. All votes unanimous unless otherwise
indicated. Moved by Kruse, seconded by Larkin, to
approve the Tuesday, February 21, 2006 board minutes. Motion carried. Moved by Kowzan, seconded by Kruse, to
approve a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Keokuk and Lee
County, to help fund the Lee County Narcotics Task Force, in the amount of
$17,432.00. Motion carried. Moved by Kowzan, seconded by Kruse, to
approve the following resolution: RESOLUTION #2006-28LEE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLUTION
OF THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS WHEREAS, Section 445.16 authorizes the Board of
Supervisors to abate taxes upon written recommendation of the Treasurer; and, WHEREAS,
the Treasurer’s
Office has recommended that taxes on a certain mobile home be abated because
it is impractical to pursue the collection of taxes. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that taxes on a certain mobile home located
at Bluff Road, Lot 20, described as a 1976 WST mobile home, vehicle
identification number 2668402 and described by tax sale number 23304 be and
are hereby abated at the request of the Treasurer of Lee County. Dated at Keokuk, Iowa,

Life Company, presented proposed upgrades for the county employees’ group
term life insurance plan. Citizen comments, questions or concerns:
Ron Meller, Wever, requested that the Board take action concerning concrete
culverts, owned by a local farmer, that have been placed on a County right-of-way.
Meller had come before the Board last fall with this same request but the
matter has still not been resolved. Chairman Morgan directed Lee County
Sheriff Buck Jones to contact the farmer. Moved by Larkin, seconded by Morgan, to
approve the following resolution: RESOLUTION #2006-29 RESOLUTION
FOR PUBLICATION OF ANNUAL SALARIES WHEREAS,
the names of persons regularly employed by the county shall be published
annually showing the total amount of annual salary in accordance with Section
349.18, Code of Iowa, NOW, THEREFORE,
be it resolved by the Board of Supervisors of Lee County, Iowa, that the
Auditor is directed to publish the annual salaries of all employees of Lee
County, Iowa for the calendar year ending December 31, 2005, as attached.
