April 17, 2006 The
Lee County Board of Supervisors met at the North Lee County Office Building
in Fort Madison on Monday, April 17, 2006 at 3:30 P.M. to canvass the results
of the Fort Madison Special Election held on the 11th day of April
2006. Present were:
George Morgan, Joe Kowzan and Rick Larkin. Upon the public
measure A-Authorize a change in the use of the one percent sales tax in
Fort Madison, there were 703 votes cast as follows: For the question, there were 240 votes cast. Against the question, there were 463 votes cast. With
no further action, the canvass was adjourned at 3:40 P.M. The next meeting of the Board is scheduled
for Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 9:00 A.M., at the South Lee County Courthouse
