July
11, 2006 The Lee County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at
9:00 A.M. at the North Lee County Office Building in Fort Madison. Present: Joe Kowzan, Rick Larkin, George Morgan, Larry Kruse, and Bob
Woodruff. All votes are unanimous unless otherwise
indicated. Due to closing the fiscal year 05/06,
the minutes of July 5, 2006 and claims were not submitted for approval. Moved by Kowzan, seconded by Kruse, to
approve Solutions Inc. Licensed Code Support Agreement and Consulting and
Services Agreement for the period July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007. Motion
carried. Moved by Woodruff, seconded by Kruse, to
approve a contract with Patrick Ewing, M.S.P.C. for outpatient mental health
services for the period July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007. Motion carried. Citizen Comments: Jamie Ross and Jonica
Duquite of Denmark presented to the Board a petition with 213 signatures
asking that the Board take action on the gravel roads located in Denmark.
Chairman Morgan accepted the petition and said he would talk to County
Engineer Dennis Osipowicz. Moved by Morgan, seconded by Kruse, to
approve the following for the Sheriff’s Office: Stacy Weber, promoted from
Deputy $17.82/hr. to Sergeant $19.25/hr., effective 7/11/06. Motion carried. Moved by Kowzan, seconded by Woodruff,
to appoint Larry Kruse as an alternate commission member to the Great River
Regional Waste Authority Commission. Motion carried. New Business: The Green Bay Drainage
District contacted Chairman Morgan, asking the Board for a letter of support
to encourage the Corps of Engineers to build up the Green Bay levy system. Committee/Commission Reports: Supervisor
Kruse attended a Jail Committee meeting. They are assessing long term needs.
He also will be attending a Crime Commission meeting. With no further action, Chairman Morgan
adjourned the meeting at 9:22 A.M. The next meeting of the Board is Tuesday,
July 18, 2006 at 9:00 A.M., at the South Lee County Courthouse in Keokuk.
