As
noted earlier, there are currently no
waiting lists for services based on availability of County funds. Should the expenditures for a specific service other than those mandated by statute be
exceeding the amount included in the county budget for that specific service, a waiting list may be established
for that service. The Board of Supervisors
may, however, approve the use of funds from underutilized services within the Mental Health / Developmental
Disabilities service fund to avoid creating a waiting list for that service. The waiting list will not apply to specific consumers
receiving more costly services that could benefit from receiving less costly services
having a waiting list. If
the presenting individual meets the threshold eligibility criteria, and is in need of a given service for which there is a waiting list, s/he will be referred to
the CPC. The CPC
administrator will follow up with the individual, to discuss service needs, which waiting lists to be used, the process for maintaining waiting lists and communicating waiting list status, and interim services that may be available while waiting for the desired service. Mental Health
