Preschool/Daycare Programs

Furry Critters
Preschoolers
will listen to the story Life in the
Forest and have fun getting a chance to touch furs from Iowa
animals. (raccoon, opossum, bobcat, beaver, and coyote, etc) They will also
be provided with color sheets of each animal fur shown.
Insects
Preschoolers will learn the basics about insects.
Listen to the story The Caterpillar That
Roared and make colorful butterflies using chalk.
Fishy Fun
Preschoolers will learn about common Iowa fish. They will also have the chance to catch
magnetic fish and make fish prints.
Participants will receive a free Fish IA button.
Trees are Terrific
Preschoolers will take a peek inside a large wooden
tree to find out who lives there.
They will also make a leaf craft with dried fall leaves.
Birds
Preschoolers will listen to the story Baby Bird, see some IA birds and make a
stuffed newspaper bird craft.
Honeybees
Preschoolers will listen to a story about the
importance of bees. They will
participate in a bee dance and receive bee color sheets.
~ Most programs last about 30 minutes.
