Canoe Program~ June 6, 2009~ Turkey Run to St
Francisville~ ~Starting at 9AM~
Join the LCCB staff for a
basic introduction to canoeing. All
equipment, water, and snacks will be provided. Participants are required to wear a
lifejacket, which will be
provided. The
cost is $20 per person and pre-registration is required by calling LCCB at
319-463-7673. There must be 5 participants registered in
order to hold this event.

Bring your kids out for a morning of
fishing at Heron Bend Fishing Area located on Hwy 61 just outside of Fort
Madison. This event is sponsored by
Lee County Conservation Board.
Registration is at 7:30 AM and fishing will be from 8AM-11AM. The top
two from each tournament will qualify for the finals tournament to be held in
August of 2009. The cost is $2 per child and anyone 16 and under can

Horseback Riding with the Westercamp Family ~ June
20, 2009~ Shimek State Forest ~ 2 PM ~
Join the LCCB
naturalist and the Westercamp family on a 3 hour
horseback ride through Shimek State Forest. Horses and snacks are provided. Pre-registration is required and spaced
is limited to 12 riders. All participants are required to sign a
waiver form and the fee is $25 per rider. To register call
LCCB at 319-463-7673. Directions will be given upon
registration. In the event of
rain, we will contact each rider to reschedule.

Chatfield Park near Keokuk, IA. This
event is sponsored by Lee County Conservation Board and Pheasants
Forever. Registration is at 7:30 AM
and fishing will be from 8AM-11AM. Please meet at the large shelter house
near the playground. The top two from each tournament will qualify for the
finals tournament to be held in August of 2009. The cost is $2 per child and
anyone 16 and under can participate.

Monarch Program & Tagging~ Early September~

Join the naturalists to learn
about monarch butterflies, their migration to Mexico, and life cycle. The best part will be chasing through the
prairie to catch a monarch, gather information, tag it with a special
sticker, and release it on its journey.
The cost is a $2 per person and participants should dress for the
weather and wear sturdy shoes for hiking.
If you have a butterfly net please bring one, as there are a limited
amount available for use. Call LCCB at
