    PRESS RELEASE

    CITY OF KEOKUK

Due to recent budget cuts the City of Keokuk’s spring and fall citywide cleanups have been discontinued.

Please be advised that junk, excess trash, household items, furniture, rugs, bedding, lumber, remodeling debris, tires, limbs and other such items will need to be disposed of at the Lee County Transfer Station located behind Wal-Mart.  Dumping fees may be determined by phoning 524-6175.

Appliances can also be taken to the Transfer Station (a fee applies), or an appliance collection sticker may be purchased from the City of Keokuk.  At that time an appointment can be scheduled for the pickup of the appliance.  Appliances include; washers, dryers, water heaters, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dishwashers, stoves and/or ranges, furnaces, dehumidifiers and microwaves.

Unkempt properties and junk items left to accumulate are not only code violations; it takes away from our community.

We need to work together towards a solution in making our community a cleaner, healthier and more attractive place to live and work.

We only get one chance to make a first impression, please help make it a good one.

If you have questions please call City Hall at 524-2050.
