on bottom of product) Recycle building is now open for your convenient
drop-off. A reminder of dos and don’ts are as follows: ® Newspapers need to be loose in
the container or sack. Do not bind. ®
Clear glass food and beverage containers only need to be rinsed
and clean ®
Remove and throw away the lids, the labels may stay
on. ®
Plastic – look at the recycling sign on the
container. GRRWA only accepts the #1
and #2 that is shown in the center of the sign. Rinse, clean and remove the lids. ®
Corrugated cardboard – Flatten boxes. Remove any packing such as plastic,
packing peanuts or Styrofoam or trash.
Do no tie or bind. ®
Aluminum and tin cans – Rinse, clean and labels may
be left on. ®
Mixed paper such as cereal boxes, pop cartons, etc.
need to be flattened and remove any plastic from the inside. Magazines, catalogs and old mail including
window envelopes are accepted. Clean
paper, typing paper, computer printouts, etc. staples, sticky notes and tape
on them are acceptable. Phone books also are accepted. ®
Don’t recycle pizza boxes that have been
contaminated with food or other paper items that have been exposed to food.
Don’t tie or bind. ®
Don’t recycle dirty or clean toiletries or feces of
any kind. ®
Don’t recycle any kind of plastic toys. ®
Don’t recycle holiday wrapping or bows. ®
Don’t recycle clothes, rags or any other kind of
textiles. ®
Don’t recycle containers that once had hazardous
waste in them such as oil, gas, varnish, etc. Please keep recyclables clean and free of trash. No charge to dispose grass, leaves, weeds, or garden waste in compost area. Brown lawn bags acceptable, but please empty plastic bags and dispose in the container provided. Please
keep area free of trash. Drop off during
business hours only. All tree trimmings and limbs may be brought to our site. Fee is $20.00 / ton (.01 cents per lb) Minimum $2.50 per
load. Miscellaneous Items Return these to the retailer when purchasing a new battery. Batteries will be accepted for a recycling fee of $1.00
each. NICKEL-CADMIUM (NI-CD- BATTERIES) (rechargeable batteries used in kitchen appliances, cordless phones, power tools and other household
applications) These types of batteries are recyclable but must be taken
to the HazChem Center. Call
toll free 1-877-429-2436 for an appointment. BUTTON BATTERIES Non-rechargeable batteries like those used in hearing aids
and watches are considered household hazardous waste and should be
taken to UNUSABLE LATEX PAINT Pour / spray thin layers of paint onto newspapers
spread in the bottom of a cardboard
box, allowing each layer to dry before adding more paint. Place in the trash when dry. Check out our Paint
Exchange for other information on paint recycling and
disposal. APPLIANCES $15.00 This includes hot water
heaters, microwaves, dehumidifier, commercial water coolers, washers, dryers,
stoves, refrigerators The Transfer Station will not accept camper
refrigerators that are ammonia gas and Servel gas refrigerators from 1933-1957 For more information about Servel refrigerators call its
