George Morgan is a life long Keokuk resident
and has been married (38 years) with one (1) adult child.
He is a retired Chief of Police from
the Keokuk Police Department with thirty-one (31) years of service. He graduated from Keokuk High School and
Southeastern Community College as well as the FBI National Academy. He is a past president of the Iowa Association
of FBI Academy graduates.
He is active in Veterans Affairs and a retired
E-8 from the Iowa National Guard with active service during the VietNam and 1st
Persian Gulf War. He has served over ten
(10) years on the Lee County Veteran Affairs Board and is a past commander of
American Legion Post 41. He chaired the
Keokuk Veterans Memorial Committee from inception to completion of the memorial.
He also chaired the Salvation Army Board during
capitol campaign to construct a new service and worship center. He is an avid fisherman and hunter and has volunteered
as an Iowa Hunter Safety instructor for thirty (30) years.
His term for District 5 seat on the Lee County Board of
Supervisors was effective January 3, 2005 and expires January 1, 2009.
