Enviroscape is a
desktop model that demonstrates point and non-point source and prevention of pollution
in a watershed. The model includes a 65-page user’s guide, is easy to clean,
and the materials come in a case.
Fishing Poles-Take your
students fishing! LCCB has 32 poles to be used. Poles are ready to be used
and tackle boxes are available. Live bait (minnows, worms, etc.) is the
responsibility of the group. Call and reserve your poles today.
Geology Box-
Contains curriculum books on geology, rocks, and
minerals, as well as rock samples, posters, and videos.
Resources-
The LCCB has many books available for loan fictional stories, Native American
Legends, informative books, and field guides may be checked out from our
library.

“Wild in Iowa” Native Wildlife Trunk
Program
“Wild-in-Iowa” is a program that makes
use of “trunks”. Each trunk includes posters, puppets, skulls, tracks, books,
study skins, and a five-day activity guide for the specified animal. The trunks are available for use in
classroom for one week and in schools for one month. The goal of “Wild in Iowa” is to provide
K-6th grade students with an understanding and appreciation for Iowa’s native
wildlife.

Individual classrooms may use the trunk for up to one week and
multiple classrooms may use the trunk for up to two weeks depending on
scheduling. All trunks are reserved
on a first notification basis.

The Tree Trunk comes to
us from Trees Forever and Migratory Birds from Iowa Ornithologists
Union.
OTHER
SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE:
Public
Programs-such as canoe trips, Dutch Oven Cooking, Hikes,
Kids Fishing Tournaments, Horseback Riding, Owl Calling, Non-scary Halloween
Hike, and many more. Contact the
office for specifics.
Summer Day Camps-summer
day camps are offered throughout the summer in Lee County parks for ages
3-16. Some of these include River
Exploration, Shimek Camp, Story Times, Survival Skills, and Night Camp. Each summer new activities are planned and
registration forms are available by contacting our office at this time.
Boy
Scout & Girl Scout Programs-programs are offered to
help scouts earn certain badge requirements.
Contact our office to see how we can help you out with a badge bust
day or individual 45 minute programs, or service projects.
