Real Estate Taxes

Property Tax Statements & Payments:

  • Tax statements are mailed to all property owners and mobile home owners once a year in the month of August.
  • First half taxes are due by September 30 and second half by March 31.
  • Payments must be received in the Treasurer’s office or postmarked by the due date to avoid penalties.
  • The late penalty is 1.5% per month per parcel, rounded to the nearest whole dollar.

Pay Taxes Online

Tax Sale:

  • All unpaid taxes will be offered at tax sale on the third Monday in June.
  • If sold at tax sale, the interest cost increases to 2% per month.
  • If the owner does not redeem after one year and nine months, the tax sale purchaser may start proceedings to take deed to the property.


  • You may apply for a tax credit to reduce the amount of taxes due if your household yearly income is less than $21,698 and you are over the age of 65 or totally disabled and over the age of 18.
  • Forms are available at the County Treasurer’s Office after January 1.
  • Tax Credit Forms must be filed in the Treasurer’s Office by June 1 of the current year.
